Our company is especially specialized in design and manufacturing range and our continuous desire to improve products in accordance with market needs is the basis for today’s global activities which is still very rare in our industry.
Therefore, our in-house research center in Turkey continuously searching for new possibilities both in engineering and technology. Our goal is to develop even more efficient production processes and products of even higher quality and in wider variety.
Before developing a large sized plant, we simulate at very reasonable cost the complete production process and produce samples on trial equipment to test new baking molds, plant components, special raw materials or new recipes.
Based on the results gained in the lab and the test center, our designers draft custom-tailored machines and plants using as many standard components as possible.
Nefamak R&D department basically follows the Pahl and Beitz’s Systematic Engineering Design Approach, which is known to be the most famous engineering design approach for the R&D activities. This approach is briefly explained as follow:
The task clarification stage includes all activities for examining a design problem and establishing a design specification.
The conceptual design stage, which is the most important stage of engineering design, deals with abstracting problems extracted from the design specification, finding the function structures based on the problem definitions, searching working principles to sub functions belonging to the function structure considered, evaluating the principles or solutions found, and finally making a decision on one promising concept.
The embodiment design stage deals with determining the layout of the concept decided in the conceptual design stage, and implementing detail analysis and improvements on the layout solution in accordance with technical and economical criteria.
The detail design stage, which is the final stage of engineering design, includes creating the documents for production and process planning.
To enhance the innovation level of our design solutions, we incorporate TRIZ (Theory of Inventive Problem Solving) and QFD (Quality Function Deployment) into the Pahl and Beitz’s Approach. The flow chart of the engineering design approach we followed is given below.
